Origin Story: I had never had a cat of my own, though I had always loved them, and so in my third year of college I deliberately overpaid for an apartment that allowed pets. After settling in, I headed down to the SPCA and found Zulie sitting in a cage with a note saying that she had already been returned once and was discounted. She seemed sweet enough to me, so I took her.
Perhaps it wasn't the wisest decision, seeing as how it ended up costing almost two hundred dollars to get her spayed (she has a heart murmur which made it dangerous to put her under anesthesia) and how she ate the cord off my mouse in an attempt to communicate that she was bored and lonely when I went to classes (see also: Baxter), but I've never looked back.
Caution: As with all our cats, Erzulie is fully clawed, and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. She will display her fluffy belly temptingly to all and sundry, but if anyone but me pets it, she will get overstimulated and try to kill his or her hand.
