Convergence Seven - Day Three

Day Three dawned bright and shiny. It was on this day that I actually got to spend a lot of time with Todd, albeit much of this time was spent driving bands to airports. We did have time for a marvelous brunch with Ayse (who then locked herself out of the apartment she'd been staying at, but the situation was saved by the timely tracking-down of the person whose apartment it was, and she made her bus. Yay! It was not unlike an adventure.)

Towards evening Danielle and I were once again dropped to our own devices. I don't remember why. Abandoned by an over-full taxi, we took the subway in the wrong direction, were turned back from the venue despite our Staff passes, got rained on, had dinner in a small Italian restaurant, went back to the venue, and were treated abysmally by the bouncer even by usual bouncer-human-relations standards. But we got in, and after that things were mostly ok.

Me, Jack, Lynsey, and a very nice girl that I met over the weekend at the final Ball

Many were the beautiful outfits I saw, many many, almost enough to restore my faith in people's aesthetic sense. Almost. I also got my first-ever experience as a ticket-checker, and got to hear Todd spin a brief set in the upstairs room, which brought back warm, fuzzy-type memories of how we first met (it's a good story, and if you remind me, I'll tell you sometime.) It was a great conclusion to a weekend that, despite the ups and downs, left a pocketful of really great memories for me and I hope for a lot of other people as well.

See? I'm having a good time.

But I'll be damned if I'll ever do it again.

Please note that in my attempt to create a narrative I have left out certain bits, notably meeting or re-meeting a lot of people. If you are one of those people, please don't feel bad, I probably liked you very much and just don't remember your name, and after all, I can hardly remember my grandmother's name. If you're my ex-boyfriend, I can only say, time hasn't exactly been kind to you, has it?
